Jul. 15 -- Leave Espiritu Santo, bivouac on Mococo River.
Jul. 16 -- Make two bridges, cross Mococo River, reach Rabbit Lake.
Jul. 17 -- At St. Johns Lake, pass Mococo's town.
Jul. 18 -- Cross a plain, steward dies of thirst.
Jul. 19 -- Come to Plain of Guacoco, gather green corn.
Jul. 20 -- Arrive village of Luca, joined by Gallegos.
Jul. 21 -- Gallegos' men arrive, Soto sends word to Urriparacoxi.
Jul. 22 -- Wait in vain for Urriparacoxi reply.
Jul. 23 -- Soto sets out with army, passes Vicela, goes beyond to sleep.
Jul. 24 -- Come to Tocaste on a large lake, Soto goes ahead, finds roads.
Jul. 25 -- Army starts to move up, returns on orders from Soto.
Jul. 26
-- Roads broader, Soto orders army to come on.
-- Soto crosses Cale river-swamp of broad and strong current.
-- Lead party comes to Uqueten, first village of Ocale province.
Jul. 27 -- Soto gathers corns and sends it back to army, moves to Ocale.
Jul. 28 -- Soto waits at Ocale Town of 600 houses while army comes up.
Jul. 29 -- Last of army arrives at Ocale, rests 12 days.
Aug. 11
-- Soto and lead party set forth from Ocale,
-- Soto sleeps at Itaraholata (Ytara) a fine village of corn.
Aug. 12 -- Lead party at Potano (later an Alachua mission).
Aug. 13 -- Soto reaches Utinamocharra (Utinama).
Aug. 14 -- Arrive village called Bad Peace, fight with chief.
Aug. 15 -- Stop at fair-size village of Cholupaha (Villafarta), much food.
Aug. 16 -- Build bridge over Cholupaha River, banks two pikes high, quarry
Aug. 17 -- Cross Stream of Discords (Cholupaha), more toil than Cale.
Aug. 18 -- Soto arrives Aquacaleyquen (Caliquen, Aguacalecuen).
Aug. 19 -- Army comes up, rests, builds bridge over Aquacaleyquen River.
Sep. 9 -- All depart Aquacalyquen, reach small town.
Sep. 10 -- At Uriutina, a village of abundant food, population.
Sep. 11 -- On road, messengers come from Chief Ucachile.
Sep. 12 -- Arrive village called Much Water, wait for rain to stop.
Sep. 15
-- Leave Much Water, proceed through very bad swamp.
-- Sleep at Napituca a pleasant village near large plain.
Sep. 16 -- Fight at Napituca's two lagoons, recuperate six days.
Sep. 23 -- Depart Napituca (Napetaca), come to River of Deer.
Sep. 24 -- Make bridge three great pines in length.
Sep. 25
-- Cross River of Deer, pass two small villages,
-- Pass very large village called Apalu (Hapaluya),
-- Arrive Ucuchile (Ochile, Uzachil, Osachile), stay three days.
Sep. 29 -- Leave Ucachile, pass a "monte," camp in a pine woods.
Sep. 30 -- Arrive Agile (Axille, Aguile) a town subject to Apalache.
Oct. 1 -- Leave Agile, come to river-swamp Ivitachuco (Vitachuco).
Oct. 2 -- Make a bridge over Ivitachuco River, ambushed in woods.
Oct. 3
-- Finish crossing Ivitacho River at noon,
-- Reach Ivitacho town two leagues beyond at night.
Oct. 4 -- Sleep late at Ivitacho, march on.
Oct. 5 -- Arrive Calahuchi (Uzela).
Oct. 6 -- Arrive Iviahica (Iniahico, Anhaica Apalache).
Winter -- In Apalache country (Tallahassee vicinity) bring up port force.
